23rd Annual Delta Sigma Omicron Wheel-a-thon
10am-5pm, University of Illinois Quad
Be a part of this annual charity fund-raiser held on the University of Illinois Quadrangle. Money raised by participants who collect pledges for the number of laps they will push in a wheelchair around the Quad. The proceeds are donated to two national and one local organization that focus on services for persons with disabilities. Pledge sheets are available in room 136 Rehabilitation Education Center, 1207 S. Oak St. Registrations will also be taken at the event. Accessible Golf Education and Clinic
12:30-2:30pm, Just Fore Fun Golf Range 301 E. Wilburheights, Champaign (by Market Place Mall)
Sponsored by Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital & Clinics and the United States Golf Association. The clinic will provide individual and group instruction with an emphasis on adapted techniques to fit the needs of persons with disabilities. A physical therapist and golf pro will be assisting with the clinic. You are encouraged to bring your own clubs, however, equipment will be provided. Limited to 20 participants! Come learn what the state & federal laws are for people with disabilities regarding housing and who a person with a disability can go to for help locally and at the state & federal levels.

Tandem Bike and Handcycling Demonstration
12-2:00pm, Assembly Hall Parking Lot (southwest corner off Oak St.)
Experience cycling as a person with a visual impairment by riding a tandem bike. Handcycles will also be available to try. Everyone is welcome to come to this demonstration.
Inner Voices Social Issues Theatre

Inner Voices Social Issues Theatre will present "My Body, My Sickness, Our Secrets and Love" and "This Fine Line". These two scenes explore some of the issues that arise for people with hidden disabilities. A discussion will follow the performance.

Air Rifle Demonstration

Challenge yourself and accuracy. A sport for everyone, air rifles are recreational and competitive. Our restored rifles will test your concentration, steadiness and focus.
Formal Opening of the Disability Research Institute
4:30-6:30pm, South Research Park, Z Building
In 1948 the University of Illinois developed the first program in higher education to support students with disabilities. Building on this commitment that has spanned more than a half-century, Illinois has been selected as the site for the first national Disability Research Institute (DRI). The U.S. Social Security Administration is funding the DRI to provide disability-related research that will inform its policy development.
The College of Applied Life Studies cordially invites you to the formal opening of the Disability Research Institute. The formal opening will be preceded by the Symposium: Partnership in a New Paradigm from 8:00am-4:30pm. For information or to register, please call 265-0279.

Camping and Canoeing Trip
6:00pm departure, Illinois or Indiana State Park
Got the need to get back to nature? This is the perfect opportunity to kick back, relax and get into nature before the rush of finals. Transportation will be provided for campers who will depart from the Rehabilitation-Education Center at 6:00pm and will return Sunday by 2:00pm. Camper fees are $15.00 which includes all the necessities for camping and an additional $5.00 for those who want to canoe.
