PowerPoint Accessible HTML Add-In

Background

PowerPoint is currently used by many UIUC faculty to create class presentations and lectures. One neat feature of PowerPoint is that it allows the user to publish his/her presentation as an HTML document which can then be posted on the web. Unfortunately, the HTML created by PowerPoint is not accessible to many people. It uses frames and JavaScript, which many people can not access. In addition, it does not mark up tables correctly or provide alternative text for people who can not see pictures.

Goal

The goal of this project is to produce an easy-to-use PowerPoint add-in which will allow professors to publish accessible HTML.
