Creating a new mailbox

Overview

Mailboxes are useful to organize and view messages on a certain topic or from a particular person or group of people. Once you create a mailbox you can move messages into it from the IN box (where your new messages appear). The messages in a mail box can be viewed in their own list just like the new messages in your IN box.

4 Steps to create a new mailbox

  1. Type ALT-X to open the MailBox menu.
  2. Type N to select the "New" mailbox option from the pull down menu, a dialog box named "New Mailbox" will open.
  3. Type in the name you want to use to identify the mailbox.
  4. Type ENTER to create to new mailbox.
4 Steps to verify the mailbox was correctly created.
  1. Type ALT-X to open the MailBox menu.
  2. Use the arrow keys to move through the menu items or type the first letter of the name you used to identify until you hear the name of the new menu box.
  3. If you hear the name you created for the new mailbox, it is now ready to accept "Transferred" messages from the IN mailbox.
  4. If you go through the entire menu options without hearing the name you may have made a typing mistake or tried to reuse an existing mailbox name.
