Using Eudora Pro 3.0 with Shortcut Keys
Limited Required Functions for a Mouse or Trackball: The usefulness of Eudora's
versatile keyboard command features has value only to those who memorize and
physically can use them as an alternative to the mouse or trackball technology.
The many keyboard shortcuts that have been the focal point of this web based
documentation are not complete; therefore, to a limited degree, remains
dependent upon the mouse driven technology. There are four illustrations:
- The vertical dividing line between the "Nickname" pane and the E-mail address pane.
- The "Nickname" window.
- The E-mail address pane.
- The Recipient List box.
- The vertical dividing line between the
"Nickname" pane and the E-mail address pane.
To increase or decrease space between the "Nickname" pane and the
E-mail address pane is a thick vertical dividing line. 5 Steps:
- Place the mouse/trackball pointer directly over the dividing line until
the pointer has two arrow points.
- Press the drag lock button.
- Move the double arrow pointer to the left or right direction to adjust the
space needed for new nicknames vs. additional E-mail addresses.
- Click any button to unlock the drag-lock button.
- Type the ALT + F + C keys to return to the mailbox window.
It appears the under lined "i" in the "Nickname"
window, immediately above the E-mail pane, would indicate typing the ALT + I
keys should activate a typing cursor to make changes previously typed into the
"Eudora Nickname" pane. In truth the keyboard shortcut does not work!
5 Steps:
- Place the trackball pointer directly on the empty space within the
"Nickname" window.
- Click the mouse/trackball pointer to activate the type cursor.
- Any changes made in the "Nickname" window will
automatically update what was previously typed in the "Eudora
nickname" pane.
- Type the CONTROL + S keys to save the changes. The mouse/trackball cursor
will instantaneously turn into an hour glass.
- Type the ALT + F + C keys to return to the mailbox window.
Typing the E-mail address into the pane. 4 Steps:
- Typing into the E-mail address pane is accomplished with a typing cursor
which is activated by clicking the mouse/trackball pointer any where within the
E-mail address pane.
- Type the E-mail address that is associated with the new "Eudora
nickname".
- Type the CONTROL + S keys to save the changes. The mouse/trackball cursor
will instantaneously turn into an hour glass.
- Type the ALT + F + C keys to return to the mailbox window.
Viewing a Nickname with the "Quick Recipient List" via the
"List box". 2 Steps:
- If you do not know how to create or use the "Quick Recipient List" either TAB
down to and type ENTER or click this link.
- To make visible an existing Nickname within the "Quick Recipient
List", above and to the right of the E-mail pane, click the
mouse/trackball pointer on the blank white box to the left of the
"List box". A black check mark will appear.
