Universal Design Symbol Summary of Eudora Pro 3.0 shortcut keys


Eudora Commands via Shortcut keys:


All of  the commands presented in Table 1 consist of two units per command. Each command occupies a complete line of text. In the first command, for example, the first unit "Open In Mail Box" descrbes the result of  the combined pressing of the CONTROL+#1 keys. It is this second unit that puts into action the first unit: the expected result.

Opening the In Mail Box
  1. To read incomming e-mail first hold the CONTROL key, & then type the  #1 key.
  2. Highlight the message you want to read.
  3. Press ENTER
Opening the Out Mail Box
  1. To review sent messages first press and hold the CONTROL key, & then type the #0 key.
  2. Highlight the message you want to read.
  3. Press ENTER
Paste as quotation
  1. Copy text from any doument by highlighting text by pressing & holding the CONTROL key and typing the C key.
  2. Press & hold the CONTROL key then type the single quote key ' to insert text from the document into the e-mail to be sent. The greater than symbol > will appear at the beginning of each line of inserted text indicating it was quoted or copied from another document.
Check Spelling Prior to leaving edit mode a spell check can be done first by pressing & holding the CONTROL key,  and typing the #6 key. 
Select (highlight) all text First press & hold the CONTROL key, and type the A key to highlight all text while editing or viewing.
Make highlighted Text Bold while editing
  1. Place the editing cursor at the left end of the word or line of text.
  2. If its a word you want to highlight first press the SHIFT key then press the CONTROL key then the right arrow key.
  3. If its a line you want to highlight first press the SHIFT key then press the CONTROL key then the HOME key.
  4. After pressing either the right arrow or HOME key then hold the CONTROL key, while typing the B key.
Copy Text While holding the CONTROL key, press the C key. 
Delete Text First, highlight the text. Then, press the DELETE key.
Send or Queue Message While holding the CONTROL key, press the E key.
Search While holding the CONTROL key, press the F key and type in the word you're looking for. Then press ENTER.
Attachment While holding the CONTROL key, press the H key. 
Make highlighted text Italic while editing  First, highlight the text. Then, while holding the CONTROL key, press the I key. 
To check for newMail While holding the CONTROL key, press the M key. 
To send a New Message to another person While holding the CONTROL key, press the N key. 
Print received or sent e-mail Press and hold the CONTROL key, & type the P key. 
Exit Eudora While holding the CONTROL key, press the Q key. 
Reply to Message While holding the CONTROL key, press the R key. 
Save in Edit Mode While holding the CONTROL key, press the S key. 
Underline highlighted Text First, highlight the text. Then, while holding the CONTROL key, press the U key.
Paste (insert) Text While holding the CONTROL key, press theV key. 
Close Message CONTROL+W
Save and Cut to move text While holding the CONTROL key, press the X key. 
To use Directory Services
  1. To search for a person's name & e-mail address at the University of Illinois press hold the CONTROL key, then type the Y key.
  2. At the command box type the proper name.
  3. Press ENTER.
To Undo an immediate previous action While holding the CONTROL key, press the Z key.
