Three steps to open a new web page

  1. Press plus and then dot on the numeric keypad to bring up the Input Dialog Box.
  2. Type the address of the web site you want to go to.
  3. Press the Enter key.

For example:

  1. Press plus and then dot on the numeric keypad.
  2. Type in "www.uiuc.edu" on the typewriter portion of the keyboard.
  3. Press the Enter key on the typewriter portion of the keyboard to open the University of Illinois home page and use the numeric keypad to navigate the document.

What can I type in as the address of a web document?

  1. Address (URL) of a web document you want to open.
    For example: "www.rehab.uiuc.edu" to go to the Disability Resources and Educational Services web site
  2. Name of a local file you want HPR to load and read. If you want to look at a local file, you need to specify the path and file name for the file.
    For example:"C:\PROGRAM FILES\IBM\HOME document READER\manual.htm" to view the HPR manual

One step to stop the web document from downloading

  1. Press the Escape key (typically in the upper left hand corner of the keyboard) to stop the document from loading. You may want to do this if it is taking too long for a document to load.

One step to reload the current web document

  1. Press plus and then Num Lock on the numeric keypad to reload the current web document.
