Using OMNI 1000 with Shortcut Keys

About Omni 1000

Omni 1000 is a reading program that reads documents for people who have severe vision impairments or for those who are blind. It will read documents that have been typed or scanned into the program for reading, or it will read documents that have been saved on a floppy disk. Omni 1000 allows its users to read many documents without the help of others, once it is learned.  Some documents may be difficult to read if they contain such elements as tables, graphics, and scientific formulas.

Omni 1000 provides a number of features:

1. Extensive spoken feedback for all users' actions
2. The ability to change the reading voice to suit the listener
3. The ability to magnify the text
4. The ability to change display colors
5. The ability to edit text
6. The ability to scan text in any orientation
7. All commands are available through the keyboard, by using keyboard shortcuts or pull-down menus
