Using OMNI 1000 with Shortcut Keys
Saving a document to the hard disk for future use
Before saving your document, you need to decide whether you want to use the
"Save" or the "Save As" option:
- Use Save to:
- at any time, save changes you have made to the document you are
working on.
- select the name for a document the first time you save it.
- rename a document if you want to save more than one version of
it, or to change the current name to a different one.
- change the format of a document, such as to ASCII.
Please note that, if you are using a public computer (not your own
computer), a file saved to the hard disk may not remain there.
Three steps to use the Save option when saving a
document for the first time:
- Press Ctrl+S to access the Save window.
- Type the desired file name.
- Press Enter to save the document to the hard disk.
One step to use the Save option when saving a
document after the first time:
- Press Ctrl+S to save the document after making changes to it.
The Save window will not appear.
Four steps to use the Save As option:
- Press Alt+F to access the File menu.
- Press A to access the Save As menu.
- Type the desired file name, to save.
- Press Enter to save the document to the hard disk.
