Using OMNI 1000 with Shortcut Keys
Using the keyboard to read and to move around in a document
One step to start or stop reading:
- Press F5 to start or stop reading.
To move around in a document using the keyboard:
You can move around in a document by using your choice of any one of
several units. These units are: a character, a
word, a line, a paragraph, or a page.
To move by character:
- Press the Left Arrow to move to the previous character.
- Press the Right Arrow to move to the next character.
NOTE: If Omni 1000 is reading when you press an arrow key, it will stop
reading. Press F5 to resume reading.
To read by word:
- Press Ctrl+Left Arrow to read the previous word.
- Press Ctrl+Right Arrow to read the next word.
NOTE: If the cursor is in the middle of the word when you press those keys,
it will move to the beginning or end of that word.
To read by line:
- Press the Up Arrow key to read the previous line.
- Press the Down Arrow key to read the next line. Omni 1000
automatically begins to read the new line.
To read the beginning or the end of the current line:
- Press Home to read the beginning of the current line.
- Press End to read the end of the current line.
To read by paragraph:
- Press Ctrl+Up Arrow to read the beginning of the previous
paragraph.
- Press Ctrl+Down Arrow to read the beginning of the next
paragraph.
To read by page:
- Press Page Up to read the previous page.
- Press Page Down to read the next page.
- Press Ctrl+Home to read the top of the current page.
- Press Ctrl+End to read the bottom of the current page.
Three steps to move to a specific page:
- Press Alt+R, then press G.
- Type the number of the page you wish to go to.
- Press Enter. Omni 1000 will move to the page number that you
requested.
