Adjusting the voice used to read from the screen

To adjust the voice, open the Speaker Characteristics dialog box. Using this dialog box, you can select the speaker voice, speed, and volume.

One step to open the Speaker Characteristics dialog box:

  1. Press Alt+T, then press R. The Speaker Characteristics dialog box appears.

To select the voice:

You can choose from among 14 different voices. There are four steps to choose a voice:

  1. Click in the white circle in front of the name to select a voice.
  2. Press Tab until the Test Speech button is highlighted.
  3. Press Enter; the selected voice will read the statement on the white screen beneath the voice list.
  4. To stop the voice, press Tab until the Stop Speech button is highlighted, then press Enter.

The Reading Speed can also be set on the Omni 3000 screen, by using the WPM window, which is just above the main window. One step to set the speed:

  1. Click on the Up or Down arrowheads to adjust the speed.
