Two ways to change colors in Explorer 4.0

Ten steps to change colors using Options in Explorer 4.0

  1. It is not possible to change colors in Explorer 4.0 without using the mouse.
  2. Press ALT+V to pull down the View menu.
  3. Press O to open Internet Options dialog box.
  4. Press ALT+O to open the Colors window.
  5. Press ALT+W to remove the check mark next to Use Windows Colors.
  6. Left click on the colored box next to the word Text. A window with color choices for text will appear.
  7. Left click on the desired text color and press the ENTER key. The Color window will close and you will return to the Colors window.
  8. Left click on the colored box next to the word Background. A window with color choices for the background will appear.
  9. Left click on the desired background color and press the ENTER key. The Color window will close and you will return to the Colors window.
  10. Press the ENTER key and the Colors window will close.
  11. Press the ENTER key again and the Internet Options window will close.

Seven steps to change colors using Windows 95 Accessibility Options

  1. Change the colors using the Accessibility Options
  2. Press ALT+V to pull down the view menu.
  3. Press O to open the Internet Options dialog box.
  4. Press ALT+O to open the colors dialog box.
  5. Put a checkmark next to Use Windows Colors. If there is not a checkmark press W, if there is do nothing.
  6. Press the ENTER key to return to the Internet Options dialog box.
  7. Press the ENTER key again to close the Internet Options dialog box.
