PowerPoint '97: Creating
a new Presentation using Shortcut Keys You can create a new presentation in several ways:
If you are unfamiliar with PowerPoint's shortcut keys it is highly recommended that you select the AutoContent Wizard in the creation of professional quality presentations. This allows you to begin with a presentation that contains suggested content and design. The AutoContent wizard contains sample presentations for a variety of topics such as a company meeting, event planning, etc. It also contains presentations you can use on the Internet.
After entering Microsoft PowerPoint press ALT+A+ENTER to highlight the AutoContent Wizard radio button option. Follow the instructions to create a presentation based on suggested content and design.
Another way to create a presentation is by selecting a design template that determines the presentation's design but doesn't include content. You can begin with an outline you import from another application, such as Word, or with a blank presentation that has neither suggested content nor design.
After entering Microsoft PowerPoint select the Template option by pressing ALT+T+ENTER. You can also select the Template option by pressing either UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW until the appropriate radio button is selected, then hitting ENTER and following the instructions.
The selection of the Template option for presentation development relies heavily on the mouse for entering and placing text, charts, and graphics.
You can also create a presentation by selecting a blank design that does not determine the presentation's design and doesn't include content. You can begin with an outline you import from another application, such as Word, or with a blank presentation that has neither suggested content nor design.
After entering Microsoft PowerPoint select the Blank option by pressing ALT+B+ENTER. You can also select the Blank Option by pressing by pressing either UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW until the appropriate radio button is selected, then hitting ENTER and following the instructions.
