PowerPoint '97: Moving text within a Presentation using
Shortcut Keys
Five steps to move a block of text within a presentation
- Use the arrow keys to position the cursor to the first letter of the first
word of the block of text you want to copy.
- Press CONTROL+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW until the desired block of text
is highlighted. To select a paragraph, press CONTROL+SHIFT+DOWN
ARROW or CONTROL+SHIFT+UP ARROW. To deselect text, press
ESC and hit an arrow key.
- Press CONTROL+X to cut the text. The text will be removed from
its current position.
- Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the new desired position within
the presentation.
- Press CONTROL+V to paste the text.
Four steps to move an object or textbox
within a presentation
- Press ESCAPE+TAB to select
a textbox or object you want to move.
- Press CONTROL+X to cut the text. The text will be removed from
its current position.
- Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the new location within the
presentation.
- Press CONTROL+V to paste the box in the new location.
