Universal Design Symbol PowerPoint '97: Using Office Assistant with Shortcut Keys

To perform most of the following commands the Office Assistant must be active.

To make the Assistant balloon active press ALT+F6. If necessary, repeat until the balloon is active.

Selecting Help topics

To get Help from the Assistant press F1.

To select a Help topic from the topics displayed press ALT+number where number is the number of your desired topic. For example, ALT+1 brings up the first topic, ALT+2 brings up the second topic, and so on.

To see more Help topics press ALT+DOWN ARROW.

To see the previous Help topics press ALT+UP ARROW.

Displaying and Closing Tips and Messages

To display the next tip from the Assistant press ALT+N.

To display the previous tip from the Assistant press ALT+B.

To close a tip press ESC.

To close an Assistant message press ESC.

Activating Office Assistant

To show the Assistant in a wizard or to turn off Help with the wizard press TAB. This will select the Office Assistant button. Then press the SPACEBAR to show the Assistant or turn off Help with the wizard.
