Universal Design Symbol PowerPoint '97: Saving a Presentation with a Different File Name using Shortcut Keys

Four steps to save a presentation as a different file name

  1. Press Alt+F to open the file menu.
  2. Press A to open the "Save As" dialog box.
  3. Type in the name that you want to call the file, then press Enter. Try to name the file something descriptive of its contents so that you will easily recognize it. Filenames must be less than 255 characters and must NOT include any of the following characters: forward slash (/), backslash (\), greater-than sign (>), less-than sign (<), asterisk (*), question mark (?), quotation mark ("), pipe symbol (|), colon (:), or semicolon (;).
  4. The file on which you were working is now saved with the name you specified. The old file still exists but under the old file name. After saving, you will be in the presentation with the new file name.
