Copying text
within a Document using Shortcut Keys
Five steps to copy a block
of text within a document
- Use the cursor keys to position the cursor to the first letter of the first
word of the block of text to be moved.
- Press the CTRL+SHIFT+right arrow to select a sentence or
CTRL+SHIFT+down arrow to select several lines of text. This will
highlight the text. To deselect the text, press ESC and hit an arrow
key.
- Press CTRL+C to copy the text.
- Use the cursor keys to move the cursor to the location where you want the
text.
- PressCTRL+V to paste the text.
Five steps to copy a single word within a
document
- Use the cursor keys to position the cursor to any place within the word you
want to copy.
- Press F8 two times to highlight the word. To deselect the word,
press ESC and hit an arrow key.
- Press CTRL+C to copy the word.
- Use the cursor keys to move the cursor to the location where you want the
text.
- PressCTRL+V to paste the word.

document
- Use the cursor keys to position the cursor to any place within the sentence
you want to copy.
- Press F8 three times to highlight the sentence. To deselect the
sentence, press ESC and hit an arrow key.
- Press CTRL+C to copy the sentence.
- Use the cursor keys to move the cursor to the location where you want the
text.
- Press CTRL+V to paste the sentence.
Five steps to copy a paragraph within a
document
- Use the cursor keys to position the cursor to any place within the
paragraph you want to copy.
- Press F8 four times to highlight the paragraph. To deselect the
paragraph, press ESC and hit an arrow key.
- PressCTRL+C to copy the paragraph.
- Use the cursor keys to move the cursor to the location where you want the
text.
- Press CTRL+V to paste the paragraph.
