Shortcut Keys to move the Cursor around the Document
Four methods to move within a word
- To move the cursor to the left, press the left arrow key.
- To move the cursor to the right, press the right arrow key.
- To move the cursor to the start of the next word, press CTRL
plus the right arrow key.
- To move the cursor to the start of the previous word, press CTRL
plus the left arrow key.
Four methods to move
through the lines in a document
- To move the cursor up one line from its current position, press the up
arrow key.
- To move the cursor down one line from its current position, press the down
arrow key.
- To move the cursor to the end of the current line, press END.
- To move the cursor to the beginning of the current line, press
HOME.
Two methods to move within a
paragraph
- To move the cursor up one paragraph from its current position, press
CTRL plus the up arrow key.
- To move the cursor down one paragraph from its current position, press
CTRL plus the down arrow key.
Five methods to move within a
screen of text
- To move the cursor to the top of the screen press CTRL+PAGE UP.
- To move the cursor to the bottom of the screen pressCTRL+PAGE
DOWN.
- To move the cursor to the next page press ALT+PAGE UP.
- To move the cursor to the previous page press ALT+PAGE DOWN.
- To move the cursor to a specific page press CTRL+G. At the
prompt enter the page number and press ENTER.
Two methods to move within the
document
- To move the cursor to the start of a document press CTRL+HOME.
- To move the cursor to the end of a document press CTRL+END.
