Using ZoomText Xtra! with shortcut keys

Hiding and Restoring ZoomTextXtra!

When ZoomText Xtra! is started, it is automatically activated and will begin magnifying and reading your screen. The ZoomText Xtra! user interface (control panel) also appears on the screen.

There may be times when you would like to hide the user interface but continue to use ZoomText Xtra. To do this, you can minimize the user interface. When you minimize it, ZoomText Xtra! is still in memory and will respond to shortcut keys and also, will continue to magnify and speak.

You can also hide ZoomText Xtra! and stop the magnification and speech without having to exit the program completely. To do this, you can deactivate ZoomText Xtra! When deactivated, the screen is returned to its normal (nonmagnified) state, and all speech output is terminated; however ZoomText Xtra! can be reactivated without having to completely restart the program.

To minimize (hide) or restore ZoomText Xtra!

To deactivate (without exiting) or reactivate ZoomText Xtra!

To minimize (hide) or restore ZoomText Xtra!:

To minimize ZoomText Xtra!, press ESC while the user interface is active. The user interface will be hidden, but the screen will remain magnified and speech will continue.
To restore ZoomText, press CTRL+SHIFT+U. The user interface will reappear.

To deactivate (without exiting) or reactivate ZoomText Xtra!:

To deactivate, press ALT+DELETE. The user interface will be hidden, the screen will be returned to its normal state, and speech will stop.
To reactivate, press ALT+INSERT. The user interface will reappear, the screen will again be magnified, and speech will restart.
