Using ZoomText Xtra! with shortcut keys
Adjusting magnification
ZoomText Xtra! provides a variety of magnification levels, allowing you to
enlarge the contents of a zoom window according to your needs. Between 1x and
8x magnification, the magnification levels go up by 1x each time they are
increased. Above 8x magnification, the increases occur in steps of 2x, up to
16x magnification.
Shortcut keys to set magnification in the primary zoom window:
- Press ALT and then the numpad + (plus) sign to
increase magnification.
- Press ALT and then the numpad - (minus) sign to
increase magnification.
Three steps to choose the magnification for any zoom window:
- Open the Display dialog box. This takes two steps:
- Press ALT+O to open the Options menu.
- Press D to select Display; the Display dialog box opens.
- Choose what to magnify, and the desired amount of magnification. This takes
four steps:
- Press TAB until the Magnification tab is
highlighted. It is the tab at the left of the four tabs across the top of the
Display dialog box.
- If the Magnification tab is not highlighted, press the right
or left arrows until it is highlighted.
- Choose the zoom window for which you wish to change the magnification. This
takes two steps:
- Press TAB until the zoom window area at the right
side of the Dialog box is highlighted.
- Press the up or down arrows until the desired zoom window is highlighted
and a dot appears in the round window to its left. You can choose the primary
window or any of the secondaries.
- Press TAB to choose the "Horizontal" or
"Vertical" magnification window on the left side of the Display
dialog box. Note that the arrowheads at the right of the window will be what is
highlighted when the desired magnification window is selected.
- Press the up or down arrows to select the desired magnification.
- When finished, press ENTER to select the values you set in the
dialog box.
