Using ZoomText Xtra! with shortcut keys
Adjusting the magnification window
ZoomText Xtra! provides several ways to magnify the screen, allowing you to
enlarge its contents according to your needs. In addition to being able to
choose the amount of magnification, ZoomText Xtra! also allows you to choose
from several types of magnifying windows (called zoom windows), to enable you
to meet your needs for magnification. For example, you can make a zoom window
fill the entire screen, or only a part of the screen.
Types of zoom windows:
- Full=A zoom window that occupies the entire screen. This window cannot be
sized or moved.
- Overlay=A partial-screen zoom window that lies on top of the normal screen.
The overlay window can be sized and moved to occupy any part of the screen.
Once moved, the window then stays in the new location, and magnifies the part
of the screen that is being tracked.
- Lens=A partial-screen zoom window that lies on top of the normal screen,
and moves along with the cursor as it is moved, magnifying what is beneath the
lens window. Using the Lens window is similar to using a magnifying glass.
- H-split=The screen is split horizontally, with half of the screen showing
the normal screen, and the other half showing the magnification. The H-split
window can be at the top or the bottom of the screen, and its height can be
adjusted.
- V-split=The screen is split vertically, with half of the screen showing the
normal screen, and the other half showing the magnification. The V-split window
can be on the left or the right side of the screen, and its width can be
adjusted.
Three steps to select a Primary zoom window type:
- With the ZoomText user interface active, press ALT+W to open the
Window menu.
- Press the up or down arrows until the name of the type of window you wish
to use is highlighted.
- Press ENTER to select that window type.
