Illini Prosthetics Team request

October 28th, 2009
Category General Announcement
Dear Students: A student asked me to send this out to the DRES listserve. If you happen to know anybody who has an arm amputee, feel free to forward this info. onto them. Please email Bridie directly at kean1@illinois.edu if you or somebody would like more information or would like to participate.

----------------------------------------

I am currently working in a team on campus called 'The
Illini Prosthetics Team'. I am helping out with some of the administrative parts of the project, but basically its a group of engineering students who are
developing a prototype for a prosthetic arm that would upon completion be
distributed to developing countries where prosthetics are scarce.

At this point they have developed their first prototype and we were wondering
if there would be any chance of distributing an email to any DRES students or contacts who are arm amputees and would volunteer two hours of their time to
test out the apparatus.

I would be more than happy to meet with anyone who might be able to do this,
to give them more information about the project.

The website is illiniprosthetics.com

Thank-you so much,

Bridie Kean
