Driver Education Program for Disabled Individuals

Accessible transportation is a key to independence for persons with disabilities.

Driver education and training services afford persons with disabilities the opportunity to eliminate or substantially reduce mobility limitations attributable to their respective disabilities.

By gaining or regaining the ability to drive, persons with disabilities are often able to significantly enhance their ability to obtain and sustain gainful employment, and to more freely and readily pursue their leisure interests.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has offered driver education services for persons with disabilities since 1966, and remains committed to maintaining a site in central Illinois where persons with disabilities can access this very empowering Service.
