DSO Distinguished Teaching Award
Delta Sigma Omicron (DSO), the UIUC disabled student organization, is requesting nominations for the DSO Distinguished Teaching Awards. Two awards may be given, the Distinguished Faculty Award and the Distinguished Graduate Teaching Assistant Award. Each recipient will be given a cash award for personal use, and a commemorative plaque. These awards recognize exemplary faculty and graduate teaching assistants for implementing and/or advocating for innovative instructional strategies, technologies and disability-related accommodations, which afford students with disabilities equal access to academic resources and curricula at the UIUC. All nominations are to be submitted in written form and are to include the following information:
- The name and department of the candidate.
- The name of the class taught by the candidate.
- A description of the innovative instructional strategy/technology provided by the candidate, or for which the candidate successfully advocated.
To assure full consideration, nominations must be submitted to the DSO President, by February 15. Nominations may be submitted by mail: c/o Delta Sigma Omicron, Rehabilitation-Education Services, 1207 S. Oak St., Champaign, IL 61820 or by e-mail to: dso@uiuc.edu.
DSO would like to thank you in advance for your assistance in identifying members of the UIUC faculty and staff deserving of this recognition. The awards will be presented during the All Campus Instructional Awards Banquet in April.
